Sectional coils are great for limited access areas

Do you have HVAC coils in areas with limited access? Consider replacing full-length coils in hard-to-reach areas with sectional coils. Sectional coils are the ideal solution for replacement applications when a coil half the length of the original coil would make installation easier.

We all know the old saying about real estate – location, location, location. The same is true when trying to replace HVAC coils. The location of the heating and coiling coils within an HVAC unit may make them hard to replace. The problem could also be the location of the HVAC unit itself. For example, the evaporator unit is located indoors, possibly in a tight space in a basement or other area. The [evaporator coil]/applications/7-evaporator-coil) inside the unit could be near the air handler where the blower fan is, making it hard to access. Another example is booster coils, which are located in ductwork, making them hard to maneuver around. It doesn’t matter why access to the HVAC coils is difficult (ductwork, boilers, pumps, etc.). All that matters is finding a solution for replacing coils in hard to access places.

Sectional coils are a great solution. Sectional coils are manufactured in specified lengths with heavy steel endplates that are bolted together in the field. The design of the sectional coils incorporates a front header end and a back-return bend end. Basically, you have two sections about half the length of the original, full-length HVAC coil. There are gaskets and matching tube sheets at one end of both pieces, allowing for a fluid tight connection where the two sections meet.
